Over the weekend my Aunt, Cousin and Dad came for a visit. The girls had so much fun playing and be the center of attention. We had a lot of fun, shopping, eating and watching the Hawkeyes!! It was a really fun time!!
This weekend we noticed we had a lot of fire ant hills popping up in the back yard. With all the rain and the fall weather starting to set in it is no surprise to us that they are starting to form. However, what we found we were not ready for. We noticed a small hill next to the girls turtle sandbox and noticed some had gotten inside the sandbox. We decide it would be in our best interest to chuck the old sand and get new as fire ants are nothing to mess with. When we lifted the sandbox what we found left us with eyes wide open.....

On a small note, Curt and I each got a few bites when we lifed the sandbox and took it back by the fence, but that is nothing compared to what could have been if the situation went un-noticed!!
It is hard to believe that almost 12 months ago my brother was deployed to Iraq. He will be leaving Iraq November 1st and it will be a great blessing to have him home. Even if home is Germany for him right now it is still a great feeling to know he will be out of the day to day stresses of war. Thank You Andrew for all that you have done in keeping this country safe. God Bless the Men and Women of the Armed Forces!
We all got together yesterday to watch the Hawkeyes beat up on the cyclones. We couldnt help but all pose infront of the TV when they showed the Iowa 35/ Iowa State 3 score. GO HAWKS!!
Maddie got a new shorter haircut. We cut off a good chunk of hair. She loves her new hair and has been seen fluffing it in the mirror and has no problem brushing it, which is a big turn around from before. However getting her to give me one nice smile was next to impossible.
Maddie started her dance lessons on Saturday. She and six little girls do ballet, tap and tumbling for 1 hour at Dana's Studio of Dance. It was the most adorable thing I have ever seen. Maddie did an amazing job and did a really good job of listening to her teacher. Check out her dance studio at:www.danastudio.com Maddie's classes are in Keller and her teacher is Ms. Amberley.
